Millissa Vitali, our design and documentation manager, has 11 year’s experience in the building industry and has seen many changes, fashion trends, innovations and products come and go.

One of Millissa’s challenges is to not only keep abreast of the latest products, but to keep ahead of them.

She has built some long and close relationships with many of our suppliers, and in particular, GWA, who she has very collaborative relationship with. GWA Group is Australia’s leading supplier of building fixtures and fittings to residential and commercial properties, their brands include Caroma, Dorf, Clark, Fowler, Stylus, Gainsborough, Austral Lock and API Locksmiths.

Regular meetings with GWA’s building rep are beneficial to both parties – Comdain Homes get to see new products in development and provide feedback to their R&D team on their mocked-up prototype models. This gives us the opportunity to plan ahead and place brand new products no one has seen yet in our display homes. A recent example of this collaboration is the ‘Aura’ bath and ‘Moon’ basin which are both installed in our latest display home in Balwyn North.

Millissa also makes appointments for clients at Caroma’s Concept Centre in South Melbourne. This is not a retail store, but a place where you’ll find advice, ideas, a large product range, the latest trends and innovation all in one location to help you select the fixtures and fittings that are perfect for your custom built luxury home.

So what’s the next trend? The recent square style is becoming less popular, with softer lines in tapware and basins now emerging, making it easier to match items. Colour is also coming back on trend, you’ll begin to see more greys and blacks mixed with the traditional white.
